Announcing Isle I-1 Version 1.1.3

Hey-o!  Dropping another big batch of features which I am, again, extremely excited about!  What’s new this time:

  • New Waveforms based on Astroid and Deltoid parameterized curves – the Astroid is the hypocycloid waveform achieved by the venerable TX81Z by manipulating the order in which it traverses its quarter-sine wave table.
  • New wave alterations available for all basic waveforms – Half stretches the first half of the wave to the entire wavelength based on frequency; Rectified converts negative sample values to positive; Pulse alternates a wave cycle with silence, with real-time adjustable duty cycle; Double replaces the silent part of a pulse wave with a second full wave, with again, real-time control and modulation available for how the double segments are split for long-short or short-long staggering.  Again, inspired by options available on early digital synths such as the TX81Z and the CZ-101, but available to all of the basic waveforms.
  • Peak-limiting of all basic wave forms – inspired by one of the waveforms available on the Ondes Martenot, with real-time control and modulation of the peak limit.  Manipulation of the peak limit can transform any basic waveform into a square wave and back.
  • Waveshaping interface — All of the basic waveforms and new features have been combined into a new waveshaping interface to provide real-time manipulation and modulation.  Changes in waveform, wave style, pulse or double, peak limit, frequency, inversion, and detune are all applied in combination, instantly, to running sounds.
  • Envelope Sync — As a patch begets a LOT of possible envelopes, it becomes nice to be able to sync edits across envelopes, as well as frequency ramps and modulated value ramps.  Individual envelopes can subscribe or unsubscribe to synced edits, and syncing can include or be limited to any combination of envelope attributes – number of stages, addition or removal of a stage, designation of sustain stage, duration and level, frequency and frequency units (for frequency ramps), and advanced parameters such as looping and loop direction.
  • Import Yamaha DX7 bulk data sysex dumps – import your favorite DX7 sounds into the Isle I-1, then expand them to take advantage of everything the I-1 has to offer!  DX7 patch banks are available all over the internet and provide an excellent entry point for building up sounds in the I-1.
